Sixth College and UCSD offer a wealth of resources to help you achieve your academic goals.
If you believe that:
- Your understanding of course material is marginal
- Your effort in a course is not resulting in the grades you expect
- You are stressed about academic or personal issues
You are encouraged to:
- Talk with your teaching assistants and professors and ask them to clarify what you do not understand from lectures and assignments.
- Ask instructors about their policy regarding work that is submitted late. Sometimes, you can earn a passing grade by submitting work late even if there is a late penalty.
- Sign up for tutoring in the Calculus Tutoring Lab if you are in Math 10A or Math 20A.
- Drop in for assistance at the Help Room if you are in CHEM 6. For other chemistry courses, see your TA.
- Explore drop-in tutoring services at OASIS.
- Visit Student Health Services if you become ill. SHS can provide documentation that you visited the doctor if you need to request an extension on an assignment or a makeup exam.
- Participate in stress management workshops conducted by Counseling and Psychological Services, or schedule an individual appointment by calling (858) 534-3755.
- Seek advice and answers to your questions from Sixth College staff in Student Affairs, Academic Advising, and Residential Life.
For more information, contact James Stascavage, dean of Student Affairs, (858) 822-5953.
