Transfer Student Orientation and Enrollment Timeline - Winter 2010

Welcome to Sixth College!  We are so pleased that you have decided to join the Sixth College community at the University of California, San Diego.  The faculty, students and staff are proud to welcome you as a member of the youngest and most innovative College at UC San Diego.  

It is critical that you adhere to the timeline below in order to ensure a smooth transition to UC San Diego.  This timeline provides information about signing up for the Sixth College mandatory on-campus orientation, and a detailed list of steps you will need to follow to receive academic advising and to successfully enroll in courses for the winter quarter.

NOW 1. 1) Activate your UCSD email account.  All official University correspondence is sent to this account, and it is the primary method for delivering information including critical enrollment and orientation information during the coming months!

2) Review your Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) and the SHIP waiver. 
October 21 2. Deadline to submit your Official Transcript to UCSD Admissions at:

NOW - November 25 3. Register for the MANDATORY Transfer Student Orientation Program scheduled on Friday, December 4, 2008, by visiting the New Student Gateway.
November 4 4. Login to TritonLink to find out your course enrollment appointment time.  Review the enrollment tutorial on WebReg.
November 9
5. 1) Check your Academic History to view your transcripts.  Follow directions sent by your major department regarding how to contact your department advisor and create your schedule for the quarter.

2) If you did not receive any instructions from your major department, go to the Department and Program Undergraduate Advisors List and contact your major department advisor.

3) Discuss your schedule with your major department advisor.  Login to the New Student Gateway and submit your academic information and your proposed quarter schedule.

4) Do not submit your academic information until you have talked to your major department.

5)  You will receive an email when your college advisor has reviewed and approved your schedule.
November 30- December 3
6. Sixth College Academic Advisors are available to answer your questions through E-advising. Click on the E-Advising tab on the New Student Gateway to ask questions about your schedule.
December 4
7. Mandatory on-campus Transfer Student Orientation Program.  For additional information, please visit the New Student Gateway.
December 7
8. Enroll in your courses using WebReg on TritonLink as soon as your enrollment appointment time begins.
January 4
9. First day of classes!
January 6
10. Attend the Sixth College Transfer/Commuter Student Social to enjoy free food while meeting other Sixth College transfer/commuter students and staff from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the Commuter Center (Pepper Canyon Hall 104).
