The Innovation component of Sixth College's core program explores the integration of culture, art, and technology through creative practices.
The Innovation@Sixth Web site explores the expressive and cultural dimensions of new technologies through hands-on creative opportunities for students.
Innovation within the Culture, Art, and Technology Core Sequence brings new media into the CAT classroom and encourages students to create collaborative Web-based digital art projects that reflect on CAT course themes.
Special topics courses CAT 98 and 124 offer students opportunities to learn new media tools and participate in both individual and collaborative creative processes. CAT 98 and 124 courses change topics every quarter. Past topics have included "Digital Projects: Art and Technology" and "New Media Design and Artmaking."
CAT 124 fulfills the Practicum requirement. Certain CAT 98 courses may fulfill the Sixth College artmaking requirement upon approval of student petition.
