Requirements for Transfer Students

In order to graduate, all Sixth College students must meet the requirements of UCSD, the major, and Sixth College General Education (GE) requirements.

As a transfer student, the courses you are required to take depend on the way you transferred to UCSD:

  • If you transferred through the Transfer Preparation Programs (TAG Completed or IGETC Certified Program), you must take the upper-division Practicum course/ project and CAT 125
  • If you transferred through UC Reciprocity, you must take the upper-division Practicum course/ project and CAT 125
  • If you transferred through UC Articulation Breadth, you may have additional Sixth College General Education (GE) courses to fulfill. An advisor will review your transfer courses and determine on a course-by-course basis how the courses you have completed fulfill our GE requirements and which GE courses you still need. It is very likely that you will need to petition some of your transfer courses for GE credit.

Note: Transfer students must complete 2 quarters at UCSD before embarking on the Practicum Requirement.
