As Associate Director of Writing, I work with our amazing faculty and teaching assistants to ensure that Sixth College students are developing their abilities to read, understand, and present compelling arguments in diverse types of texts. I have almost ten years of experience working with various writing programs on UCSD’s campus, particularly Revelle Humanities. I’ve also taught for the Literature and Ethnic Studies Departments, offering classes in my research specialties of Asian American Studies and Filipino American literature. When I am not coordinating the CAT writing program or lecturing in my own classes, I can be found serving as the Executive Director of the Kuya Ate Mentorship Program (KAMP), a grassroots organization providing educational workshops on Filipino history, culture, and identity in local San Diego high schools and middle schools. Alongside KAMP volunteers, I pursue my passion in service learning and transformative pedagogy.
