CAT 124: Coaching the Craft of Writing

“When I signed up for the class, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, wondering if this would just be something that I was taking to fulfill a requirement of if it would be an opportunity that I could grow and learn from. Fortunately, it was the latter. In the future, I hope to have a career in writing—probably copywriting or some form of journalism—and I feel as though taking CAT 124: Coaching the Craft of Writing was a valuable step in my greater journey.”

CAT 124: Coaching the Craft of Writing

“Throughout my time as a tutor during my Practicum I gained valuable skills that I could directly apply to my professional work as an engineer. It was essential to work collaboratively with the supervisor, tutors, and students. Within the engineering field, many projects focus heavily on teamwork. With this opportunity as a writing tutor I have noticed a tremendous change in my effectiveness in clearly communicating with others and being part of a team with the same goals.”

CAT 124: Coaching the Craft of Writing

“This Practicum experience reaffirmed my desire to work in higher education. As an aspiring student affairs professional, I am grateful to have had this opportunity to hone my skills in coaching and writing. I hope to do work with a value of social justice and to work in an advising capacity where I am able to constantly interact with college students. I would love to work in academic affairs and help develop writing programs to strengthen students’ writing abilities.”
