Join UC San Diego's first-generation faculty, staff, and students as we connect to share our first-generation college student stories, highlighting our triumphs and challenges, and identifying what fuels us to be the first of many - first to go to college, first to graduate, and first in lots of other areas in our lives. If you can't make it to Advising during the day over at the Sixth College Hub but need help planning your Winter class schedule, have questions about summer session, want to clarify academic requirements/policies, are confused about GE's, would like to discuss majors/minors, and more, this is the perfect opportunity for you! Join us for a dialogue on the concept of home. What does home mean to you? How do we re-create spaces to call them home? How do you ascribe meaning to home? I-HeART: The Art of Home (PART 2)
Join us for a tour of Fallen Star - Do Ho Suh’s Fallen Star is the 18th permanent sculpture commissioned by UCSD’s Stuart Collection. It reflects Suh’s on-going exploration of themes around the idea of home, cultural displacement, the perception of our surroundings, and how one constructs a memory of a space. His own feelings of displacement when he arrived in the U.S. from Seoul, Korea in 1991 to study led him to measure spaces in order to establish relationships with his new surroundings. Happens Tuesday, Oct. 31st, 1:30pm. Meet at Great Hall .

I'm First - Forum For Undergrad Students 
In this informal, open forum, Dr. Roberto Luna from CAPS will discuss topics that come with being the first in your family to attend college.
