CALL FOR SPEAKERS: Spirit 101 & Tie Dye
Are you the most spirited Triton around? Then apply to be a speaker at our Spirit 101 event! We will have a Tie Dye event along with discussion of how people celebrate spirit in different cultures and areas. Come as a speaker to share your experiences with Spirit and you will win a $5 Starbucks gift card, a free tie-dye shirt, and possibly a boba tea if you are the first 20 to come.

Cupcakes & The Cake – Hosted by Arts Committee
Join Sixth's Arts Committee this Valentine's Day in watching La Jolla Playhouse's performance of The Cake and get a free Sprinkles cupcake at our pre-show discussion!

What is "The Cake"? The show is a dramatic comedy about a same-sex couple and a conservative baker caught in a battle of ideologies over the baking of the couple's wedding cake. Written by co-producer and writer of the popular TV show This Is Us, The Cake has been praised by the Los Angeles Times as smart, funny and emotional.

 Tickets are $5 (which is only a half of the special offer, and a fifth of the price of a regular ticket!). Our pre-show discussion will be happening 
Wednesday, Feb. 14th, 11:30am - 1pm in the Sixth Commuter Lounge . We will then head out together to the La Jolla Playhouse for their 1-3pm show!
Grand Opening of The Hub – Basic Needs Center
The Hub is a new UC San Diego space in the Original Student Center (Room E-100, located in the courtyard left of the Triton Food Pantry) . that offers students the opportunity to engage in and link to Basic Needs resources. We provide resource referrals for students from a collective of on campus program collaborations and off campus program partnerships in the greater San Diego area.

Grand Opening Ceremony happens Tuesday, February 6th from 11am - 12pm. Open House is from 10am - 2pm. Basic Needs Presentation happens in The Forum (Price Center 4th Floor) from 2:30pm - 3:30pm.

Language Conversation Tables Week 5
Language Conversation Tables (LCTs) are one of I-House's most popular programs and this quarter they will occur Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays . Come learn and practice languages for FREE with an amazing community, exchange culture weekly, and to connect with students from all over the world! Everybody is welcome to come, so we hope to see you there! Times and locations for each date can be found in the event page below.
I-HeART: Nails  
A panel about gender expression and community organizing in the nail industry. The panel will include an organizer, UCSD Women's Center intern, and student speaker. There will also be an interactive nail art activity at the end of the program! Happens Monday, Feb. 5th, 3-5pm at the Great Hall .   
Outreach Trivia Night
Venture over to Muir to meet new people and test your knowledge of various trivia categories! Free entry to all UCSD students and prizes for the winning team! Make this a weekly event and turn up the competition! All students welcome. Come with friends or by yourself to join a team of four! HappensMonday, Feb. 5th, 7pm at Muir Woods Coffee House .

Yoga Zone – Wake Up Hatha
The practice of Hatha yoga uses the alignment of the body and breathing techniques to build strength, increase flexibility and balance to gain a greater sense of well-being. Suitable for all levels of experience. Led by FitLife instructor Laura, this free program is on first come, first serve basis. All materials including yoga mats are provided. Equity-Minded Leader Seminars
Learn what it means to be an equity-mionded leader. These seminars emphasize the development of competencies on social justice and equity-mindedness through experiential activities and discussions that seek to help students gain awareness of social identities and identify practices to become a more equity-minded leader. Seminars will be on Tuesdays & Thursdays, 12:30-1:50pm in the Marshall College Room from weeks 2-5 .

Quarterly Conversations: Opioid Epidemic 
The US is the world’s leader in opioid misuse, with 12.5 million people having misused prescription opioids in 2015, according to the US Health and Human Services Agency. During the same year, 2.1 million people misused prescription opioids for the first time and the numbers show no sign of slowing down. Come hear from experts on the topic about what this means for global health and how we can stop this crisis from becoming a worldwide pandemic. Happens Wednesday, Feb. 7th, 3pm at the Great Hall .

Attend the Time & Stress Management Workshop at Angela's Space from 4pm to 5pm, presented by Communication & Leadership program coordinator Frida Alvear from the Center for Student Involvement. Women of the World is a program designed to celebrate and bring awareness to the struggles, strengths and issues involving women of the world. Earn your passport and travel to Saudi Arabia! Learn about life and culture from current students who have lived and studied in various regions of the world. Borderlines: Telling South Asian and US-Mexico Border Histories Through Art and Performance
This series examines cross-cultural connections between North American and South Asian border regions. By tethering local community stories to global ones, Borderlines turns the city into a metaphor for international borders to unearth complex narratives that challenge the stereotypes and misconceptions faced by migrant communities in border regions and undocumented communities in Texas. Happens Mar. 15, 5-6:30pm in the Seuss Room in Geisel Library . 
LAST WEEK TO APPLY: Outreach Spring Break Service Trip
Join the Outreach Coordinators as we partner with Self-Help Enterprises to build houses in McFarland, CA alongside the families that will live in them. Learn firsthand about housing insecurity and the agricultural community in Central California. The trip costs is $350 and you must be non-resident (international or out of state) student to apply. Happens March 25th-29th .

Submission categories include Original Research Manuscript, Scientific Review Paper, and Master’s Brevia.
