Sixth College Residential Life Philosophy

At Sixth College, we view living on campus as an integral part of your education. The Residential Life Office is here to support your academic pursuits, as well as your personal growth outside of the classroom. As a Sixth College resident, we encourage you to become active in our community and take advantage of the many opportunities for involvement in its programs, activities, and organizations.

Living in the apartments and residence halls provides a wonderful opportunity to:

  • Meet new people
  • Learn about new cultures
  • Develop life skills that will go beyond your years at UCSD
  • Develop respect and caring for others
  • Make responsible choices and decisions about your optimum lifestyle
  • Share your academic, social, and cultural experiences with other students
  • Learn to live peacefully in close quarters with a diverse group of people

Residential Life Office staff are here to help when you:

  • Check into or out of the Sixth College Apartments or Residence Halls
  • Change rooms
  • Get locked out
  • Want to plan an activity or program
  • Make room reservations
  • Receive packages from UPS, DHL, or FedEX
  • Have a question, suggestion, or complaint
  • Need information, counseling, or advice

The resident dean, assistant resident deans, and 20 undergraduate resident advisors all live in the Sixth College Housing Complex and are available 24 hours a day, even when the office is closed.

If you ever need to contact one of us, and it is after business hours — and not an emergency — call (858) 534-5555.

In an emergency, call the UCSD Police Department at (858) 534-HELP (4357).
