Sixth College Leadership, Service, and Involvement Awards

2009 Call for Nominations

This spring, Sixth College will recognize during its Commencement exercises three graduating Sixth College students whose undergraduate careers have included exceptional accomplishments characterized by leadership, service, and involvement.

Dean’s Award for Leadership and Service

Sixth College recognizes with the Dean’s Award for Leadership and Service a graduating senior who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and/or service to Sixth College, UCSD, and/or the greater San Diego community. The award consists of an engraved silver bowl and a perpetual name plate to be housed in the College Hub. The award includes a monetary prize funded by the College.

Alumni Association Outstanding Student Award

Sixth College recognizes with the Alumni Association Outstanding Student Award a graduating senior who (1) has achieved academic excellence and (2) has brought honor and distinction to the College and UCSD through leadership, involvement, and/or services activities. The award consists of an engraved trophy and a perpetual name plate to be housed in the College Hub. The award includes a monetary prize provided by the UCSD Alumni Association.

Oceanids Service and Leadership Award

Sixth College recognizes with the Oceanids Service and Leadership Award a graduating senior who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and service to the College and the University community. The award consists of an engraved silver bowl and a perpetual name plate to be housed in the College Hub. The award includes a monetary prize provided by Oceanids.

The selection committee seeks nominations for these awards. To nominate a graduating senior, complete the online nomination form by 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2009. Self-nominations will be accepted.
