First Year Experience & Transfer Year Experience

Sixth College invites you to enroll in SXTH 1: First Year Experience (FYE) for Freshmen or SXTH 2: Transfer Year Experience (TYE) for Transfers, a 2-unit course with one hour of faculty lecture and one hour of discussion section led by upper-class undergraduate students each week. This course is designed to specifically help new students maximize their educational experience at UC San Diego. Learn more about UC San Diego's First Year Experience Program.

  • Direct support and guidance to ease your transition to UC San Diego
  • Prepare transfer students with the necessary tools to be academically successful
  • Practical advice about student life and educational strategies for success (both in and out of the classroom)
  • An introduction to your college, campus resources, research and involvement opportunities and much more...
