Dane Paracuelles

My name is Dane Paracuelles and I serve as the Assistant Director of Residence Life at Sixth College. My role is to provide a welcoming, immersive, and engaging residential experience within this vibrant community at UC San Diego.

I was born in Hawaii on the North Shore of Oahu and spent most of my life being raised in Haddam, Connecticut. As a first-generation college student, I earned my B.S. in Communication at Eastern Connecticut State University. Through my involvements, I found a passion for helping students achieve their goals and create meaningful connections. Therefore, I continued my studies at Kent State University where I completed my M.Ed in Higher Education Administration & Student Personnel with a focus on Academic Advising and Career Counseling. I bring experiences from areas of Residential Life, Advising, Athletics, and Student Activities.

During my free time, you will find me cooking, eating a variety of cuisines, swimming, singing, relaxing at the beach, and playing fetch with my dog!

The foundation of my work is to develop others as a whole person, build inclusive communities, and cultivate leaders for social change. I believe that getting involved within your community will foster meaningful connections and discover your unique talents to share with the world. Welcome to Sixth College and I look forward to working with you!
