Sixth College Academic Advising is here to support you and your academic success. The Virtual Advising Center (VAC) at vac.ucsd.edu is the best way to connect with Advising. Please read below for how to use VAC to meet with an advisor and get your questions answered.

Virtual Advising Center (Ask A Question)

Current and former students can submit questions through the Virtual Advising Center using the "Ask a Question" tab. Questions submitted to Sixth College are answered by an advisor within 48 business hours. Students are notified via UCSD email and/or text when their questions have been answered in their Contact Record.

New Incoming Students: New students will gain access to Ask a Question in the Virtual Advising Center on the date indicated in the New Triton Advising. Proceed to Orientation for more information.

Remote Drop-In Advising (Meet with Advisor)

Current and former students can meet with a Sixth College Advisor via Zoom in a 15-minute advising session during posted advising hours. During remote drop-in advising we can:

  • Review the degree audit and general-education requirements
  • Advise students on their short-term enrollment goals
  • Refer students to appropriate resources
  • E-Sign some forms that require a college advisor signature (Academic Planning Forms, SAP Appeals, etc.)

Drop-In Advising Hours:

  • See calendar below for hours. Hours subject to change.
  • Use the "Meet with Advisor" tab of the Virtual Advising Center to sign in.
  • See "How to Sign-In" on YouTube to learn how to use the Meet with Advisor tab.
  • Note: Students must sign in at least 15 minutes before the end of the advising period to meet with an advisor.

New Incoming Students: New students will gain access to Meet with Advisor once they are enrolled for the Fall quarter. All course planning is done online prior to enrollment.
