Syllabus: CAT3_SP12_Yang_Syllabus.pdf

This course uses an interdisciplinary approach to study worlds created in film, novels and short fiction, science fiction, art, music, and comics. Our main purpose is to analyze structures of injustice in these fictional worlds as well as our actual world: racism, heterosexism, patriarchy, colonialism, and global exploitation. As a culminating research project, students will develop their own worlds and articulate them through a graphic novel format and present their graphic novels at Sixth College’s own Comic-Con event.
