Ana Alvarez

Housing and Media Coordinator

My name is Ana Alvarez (she/her/ella) and I serve as the Housing and Media Coordinator of Residence Life at Sixth College. I received my B.S. in Developmental Psychology right here at UC San Diego and was involved in Residence Life at Sixth College where I ultimately found my passion for serving diverse communities both in and out of Student Life. Since graduating from UC San Diego, I have had the privilege to work with a variety of populations within the mental health field where I focused on crisis intervention, trauma-informed care/practices, and the utilization of a variety of therapeutic modalities.

I am a strong advocate for maintaining a student-centered approach that includes a focus on diversity, equity, inclusion and mental health as it pertains to the student experience. Returning to Residence Life at Sixth College I aim to provide students with the support and guidance to be able to learn and grow as they experience student life here at UC San Diego.

Outside of work, you can find me reading, playing video games, crafting, spending time with friends, or playing with my cat Pancake.

I look forward to meeting and supporting you during your time here at Sixth!
