Teach with Us

The Culture, Art, and Technology (CAT) writing program at Sixth College a Cultural Studies lens to past, present, and future intersections of technology, art, and cultural production in order to empower students to think and engage critically in our contemporary world. Every quarter we offer interdisciplinary writing courses taught by faculty on a variety of topics from the history of American pop music to gothic literature and climate crisis messaging.

If you have a dream course that you feel would fit in CAT, please see the resources below and reach out!

Propose a CAT Course

  • If you would like to develop and offer a lower-division CAT course, we would love to work with you! We support Senate faculty to develop interdisciplinary writing courses, offering support with all phases of course development from brainstorming to refining assignments.

  • CAT courses explore a variety of topics that center intersections of culture, art, and technology, using those topics as an entry point to teach foundational skills like critical thinking, argumentative writing, and research.

  • If you are interested in developing a CAT course, you can e-mail Director of Academic Programs Dr. Phoebe Bronstein for more information.
