Spring 2023 was defined by understanding climate justice, learning from peers, and forging meaningful connections with youth. While supporting youth participation in environmental education, CAT 124 students learned how to engage, mentor, and lead youth in building social, environmental, and cultural literacies. CAT 124 projects this spring aligned with the EarthLab End-of-Year Showcase, where community members had the opportunity to engage with exhibits co-created by CAT 124 students and youth participants. On top of producing a showcase exhibit, students created research projects that drew upon original qualitative data they collected at the field site. Through the memories they made with participants, students can be assured that their impact will reach well into the future.
